Today's landscape is littered with BPO providers, all of whom seem to come to the party with the same mantra - cutting costs.  But do clients and providers really understand each other´s requirements?

To date, not enough consideration has gone into studying the cultural/relationship aspect of providers. Recent research has revealed a huge misconception.  There is a general perception that, by shifting processes “off shore”, cost savings will be huge. Whilst this certainly can be true, it is vital to consider the costs of establishing a “cultural fit” and building long term relationships. The lowest “quote” is not so appealing when the cultural differences start cropping up.

Costs savings of 50-60% can suddenly plummet to 10-15% as clients realize that they must invest in educating the service providers with respect to processes, expectation, business practices etc.
